Monster Beatrice

Beatrice likes a proper tea, beatles under rocks, and the view from her cherry tree. Like any monster girl Beatrice likes black licorice.

Beatrice is what I am going to call the official JunkerJane Ragdoll. The Official ragdoll being 'monster', of course. Expect to see many of Beatrice's relatives soon.

Beatrice is made partly new fabric. I had bought some new fabric months ago before deciding to go full recycle. Hmm, I can see this being a problem with my rag dolls, maybe...I think I maybe I will have a new fabric section. It's really hard when you are inspired by many things to limit yourself, ya know. On the other hand claiming to be completely recycled is something. Not just because it's a good thing but because it's a challenge. Either way I will always list whether or not new or recycled fabric is used.

Whoa Nellie!

This is what I came up with... I had to change the nose because it didn't look right, but I will try that type of nose next time a different way.
Nellie is accident prone and really needs to be adopted by someone with a watchful eye....

Rag Doll

I am working on a JunkerJane ragdoll. There are several out there, wonderful designs. So all of a sudden one of my sketches is inspiring me to create my own.... We shall see...

New Monster

I came home and whipped this guy up. You should still see the kitchen table...messy! I could never be on that infamous Flickr "Corners of my Home" haha, at least not yet.

This is Oscar and we both love trees equally. Trees rock!

Oscar is the first plushie that I put my name label on. So whoever buys it may be getting a collectors item! hahaha... I use recycled fabric and quirky ways for my label, too. I use a thrifted sheet to write my name on. I use a fade-proof/ water-proof ink pen that really works, I've tried scrubbing it off. On a sample piece of course... and I am posting a sketch that inspired Oscar.

Oh, the kids are almost in bed and I swear I feel guilty for not wanting to sew up something else instead of plopping down in front of the TV hoping to catch a good chick flick...I mean I want to sew but I also want to escape into some historical fantasy....whilst sipping an ale....whilst, hehe, that word is funny and wonderful both....

alright have a good night all

Back from the dead

Hello! Here are two WIP Pillows I am working on. I really had fun sewing these, or I am having fun. It's kinda therapy for me to do crazy patchwork.

I also made this bag. It's fun, too. It is really sturdy but a little wonky around the sewn top. I feel I need to say that in case someone buys it, I don't want there to be any surprises.

This weather in Oregon is crazy! It's cold, windy, gray and rainy. It feels like winter still. I hope this isn't a short summer....gah.

School gets out next week for my daughter. That means I will need to do more entertaining, but also that i get to stay up really late sewing stuff and getting dark circles under the eyes, haha.

Recovering from myself

For a whole week I was in a slump. No inspiration, frustration, etc. It was the pits, plus I am out of cam batteries again. But I made a bag today and I am finishing a pillow. Pics to come.

Long week

It was a long week, tiring, too.
I will have more crafty crap to post later, but for now all I have are my roses. I love these little roses. I used to have some just like it growing up. They bring back good memories. I won't usually post things that don't pertain to something crafty, but sometimes I just need to look elsewhere for inspiration and a chance to catch my breath and refuel, ya know??
