If I was to live with only the things I truly LOVED.... I think I'd only have the Victorian style sofa and side chair which are in the darkest basement corner , my pirate head vase, Frenchy girl figurine....my white pouf Halloween wig... :D
Hello :) I made a bag with fabrics that I bought at a local yard sale. Two women wre selling stuff for and from their church sewing group. Maybe it was a Catholic church, I dunno, but the fabric I used for the outside of this bag REALLY reminds me of my old Catholic school uniform! :) I went to Catholic school from the 5th grade to 8th grade and at the time I hated uniforms, but it kinda brings back fond memories :) This bunny school girl bag is kind of inspired by all the school supplies I have been seeing around the stores :)
Oh joy, I gots me a new cam!! But where did the sun go?? I have new junk on etsy :) I couldn't post all of them because I really couldn't get shots that did them justice. Still, I have a cam!!!!!
When I was down in Grants Pass a few weeks ago I picked up this little frenchy figurine for my favorite price....free :)
Almost! Almost! Tomorrow I get my camera FINALLY. You don't know how weird it is to have to exist without a camera. An etsy seller, a flickr member!!! A wannabe blogger!! Man, these past few weeks have really tested my patience and sanity. Anyway I have some new babies to post tomorrow. Yippee!
It will be a few days before I'll finally get my camera. I am looking at my blog and it's a pretty dull blog. I want just a pretty blog :) I have been thinking of new ideas to make my blog better. I will be taking artful photos. Small details of beautiful junk. It will also help me to take notice of small things and slow down. I am usually all up in my head with ideas or stress :) Anywhoo, I buy kids books NOT only for my kids, but for me! :) I usually keep MY kids books up and away from grubby hands, hehe. Here are some pics from one of my favorite illustrators, Calef Brown.
I'm back now but I have been busy with kids doing the summer thing :) It will only be a few days before I start posting new plush. It's always hard to get back into the old routine, but I have SO MUCH new fabric, all thrifted! I hope everyone is having a great summer!
The other day we went to Indian Mary Park for a day by the river. It was beautiful. Years past we have rafted it and that is really fun. I just love the sweet smell of the waterside. I go back to Portland Tuesday and even though I will be sad to leave my family I am excited to get back to sewing!! I have ideas, man! :)
This is a pic inside my parent's garage. They have collected so much stuff over the years. It's fun to come "shopping" here! Haha. That dressform thingy was originally mine but when we moved I left it with them, I am going to borrow it back because I may try my hand at t-shirt applique and she would model well. Besides who needs an excuse to have any kind of dressform around??? I used to own an amazing full dress form, a vintage beauty but I sold it. It was a moment of insanity that I will never forgive myself for. That's why certain people really should not downsize. really. We are all made differently. We can't all do Simple, hehe.
Okay, I've been lazy as can be. Today we went to The Growers Market. I know the people selling the gorgeous turnips. One summer some of us went to help at their farm for fun, this was before I could drive, Lucille the farm owner offered to let me have a try with their farm truck. I ended up in the potato field, ha. My dad's friend is Bountiful Bagel, he's an artist, too. I love their van! :) Pennington Farms jams and pies was featured in the last issue of Country Living. I will show you some shops tomorrow. Happy summer :)
