Junker Heaven

My mom's place is junker heaven! This stuff isn't in use in case you are noticing all the dust, it's just in storage :) That little vintage elephant is so cute! And I grew up with that Rolling Stones album :D I am on the hunt now for the Doors and Janis' too :D
I have to tell you that all credit for me being a junker originates with my mom's grandmother who was the original junker :D Who I am actually named after! One day I'll go into detail about her place but man, she had so much stuff!! I think it may have been because she went through the depression era, I dunno, but she didn't throw anything away and looking through her dresser drawers was insanely fun! But anyway, the junker gene never died and so here I am....maybe my kids will be minimalists......who knows...hahaha.

At my Parents'

The kids and I are visiting my parents in for a few weeks. These are a couple of things by my sister. Man, I love that paper mache head! Maybe I can take it back?!? There is no shortage of stuff to take pics of and I am soooo happy for that. I brought my paints along just in case but who knows if I'll just wanna nap the whole time :D

Old Doodle

I feel justified posting old doodles up because I am actually painting stuff :D
Maybe later I will have some painting pics(that will be prints) up.
I am going to visit my parents for two weeks with the kids, we are leaving tomorrow. The shop won't close because the hub is staying at home and he will do any of the shipping should anything sell.
I am so ready for a family visit! I will still blog while there! I am leaving it open to actually make stuff when there but I can just see me now sitting out back under the big ol tree with my iced tea and NOT making anything :D
But I know when I get back I will be so ready to make more monsters!

Tom Banwell Masks

My friend, you need a mask...for every mood :D
If more people dressed up aside from Halloween I think the world would be a much scarier place... I mean better place. Tom Banwell on Etsy has an amazing shop! And I just discovered he makes rayguns! Rayguns. Come on guys, admit you want one. I do. For me, not the kids.

OH! And if you are wondering if I MYSELF still make stuff, well, yeah I do, I am painting some stuff now. I am taking a mini break from sewing, but I'll be back :D

CLAYFIGURE FREE POEMS

My hub found this shop on etsy last night while I was painting at the kitchen table. I bought a free poem. I didn't specify anything to the poet. I will love the Fate of it.

This is from Clayfigure's Etsy page:

These poems can be serious or humorous, insightful or cleverly pithy, romantic or mawkish; it really depends on your mood and request.

Original poem
Typed on a dying typewriter
200-300 words on average over the long run
3.67" x 8.5" paper

THESE ARE GREAT FOR:
~personal birthday card/poem
~for some obscure holiday
~to celebrate
~for decoration
~you want a poem arbitrarily?
(~or maybe you just want to talk)

INCLUDED:
~my name and (broodingly pretentious) signature
~the date (any of them)
~(brevity optional)
postscript: my humour is dry like toast

It's all alchemy:
answer as few or as many (or make up your own):

What is this poem about?
What have you been thinking about lately (epigrams welcome)?
What has happened recently in your life (or even mine: conjecture recommended)?
Or if you like dada or word association (an omission of words) e.g. NFL, fluorescent lights, purple, the number pi.

Really just tell me anything

MUD

I am going to try to feature cool things I find ....let's hope I can keep this up. I have good intentions but sometimes, more often than not, my plans go screwy... anyway I found this shop on Etsy called MUD and here are some of their fun things.... http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6966986 , maybe someone can teach me how to have the link clickable, until then just paste because I am slow at these things... I just love doll heads! They are not creepy to me. And even though some of my dolls are creepy, my house isn't full of creepy stuff like you might think... the "scariest" things my kids see are my dolls and Scooby Doo. But back to doll heads, they are just quirky and fun!

I'ma gonna

... start some paintings today. I have new characters in mind. Like a pirate boy monster boy, monster girl, Little Red Riding Hood, and other ones that are scattered all over doodle sheets shoved in my shelves.
